I'm not really concerned about it, as it's classified as a cookie. More curious as to why it's just started appearing.
It's only coming up when I go to a website (anyone). I use the same sites all the time, very rarely go elsewhere.
It doesn't come up when I initially open my browser (IE7), only when I go to a site.
And as far as it being tasty, you should try a roo sanger.![]()

Hello to all, and sorry about the confusion this has caused!
"Orphan" cookies are what we call cookie files in your Temporary Internet Files folder that do not have a parent entry in the Internet Explorer index file.
There is nothing to worry about - these cookies are not seen by IE, so they are merely taking up hard drive space. The "Orphan Cleanup" cookie is a special operation that simply cleans up these extra cookies.
This cookie has actually been around ever since the Tracking Cookie Cleanup feature was added - however, it was not previously visible, so there appeared to be a discrepancy between the list of cookies displayed, and the count that Norton reported. This is why Norton used to report 3 cookies, while showing only 2 in the details. To make the count match the display, we recently updated Norton to display the "Orphan Cleanup" cookie.
Hope this clears a few things up!
