Hi Erik,
let me explain. i have a task management software called system panel. i have excluded norton from that app so that norton will run in the background all the time. the thing is there is one process which is getting killed even thought norton runs in the background. it happens for all numbers stored in my blacklist. after i open norton application then the filtering is working fine which means after launching the app again the process starts and working ok.. any idea how?

Do you know the process name that keeps getting killed? I haven't used System Panel myself. How do you exclude apps? Is it by the specific process ID?
So, the problem isn't that NMS is inconsistent in filtering, but a process is randombly killed that causes SMS filtering to not work. Is that correct?

Im sorry i dont know the process name.
yes you are correct..a process is randombly killed that causes SMS filtering to not work. most of the android users they use some sort of task killing apps to save battery and performance.. i have attached 2 screenshots. download that from : http://freelancewebdev.com/norton.zip
n system panal u can click a background service and click exclude button so that it will be exculded while cleaning up background tasks so that norton will remain untouched running in the background.
Thanks

Thanks for the screenshots. Looks very similar to NMU which has the ability to exclude a process so it doesn't kill it. It sounds like System Panel may be noticing a side process involved in the process. Do you know the name of the process that is still being killed? If it's com.symantec.mobilesecurity.base that's being killed it sounds like you have something that you'll want to report to System Panel. Something you could try to is to set up CatLog running and put in a temorary number that you can test with to see what processes are spawned. SMS/Call filtering should be a part of the Norton Security service.

its definetly not com.symantec.mobilesecurity.base.
because i have exculded many more services lik gmail,yahoo,watsapp.. all working great... ok ill send a mail to system panel devs as well
Thanks
Sam
