Norton Mobile Security Lite lacks of a basic feature which most antivirus's for mobile have. NMS Lite lacks the setting to enable or disable real-time protection. Could this setting be implemented into the product because its quite important.
Thanks.

Let me describe the Anti Malware feature a little bit as this might alleviate some of your concerns. The Anti Malware feature has two components to it. One is the manual scan. This scans internal memory and the SD card (when you select this option). If you've selected to scan the SD card, the scan will also run whenever you mount an SD card. The other component is the realtime protection. What this does is scans every app as it is downloaded and installs. When it detects the malicious app, it will prompt the user and quickly uninstall the app. Once you have a clean app downloaded, installed, and running Anti Malware is no longer in the way. It will sit in the background waiting for you to download an app. Is the concern around having it sit in the background or for a different reason?

The realtime protection does not automatically remove the malicious app as this requires root access for Android. It instead gives you the option to either remove the malicious app or keep it installed.

I partially understand the situation now, I didn't know how the app worked at first. Although I still think there should be two different settings one for scanning and one for real time protection. By the way if I want to turn off real time protection then how do i do it?

You can disable the "Scheduled Scan" which will disable the Automatic Scheduled Scan that occurs every week by default. You can also choose to keep the "Scan SD Card" option disabled as well so that NMS does not automatically scan the SD card when it is mounted onto the device or the device it powered back on.
As for the automatic app scanning, there is currently no way to disable that feature, but I'm not sure if there is a need to disable this since NMS requires user input to remove malware. NMS will only scan when you install new apps, otherwise, there will be no other real-time protection if you disable the "Scheduled Scan" and "Scan SD Card" features.
