OK, so I have news.  Some good, some not so good. 

So, we have a fix for what you're seeing.  The fix is in the next release that is coming up soon.  The bad news is that you'll have to wait till then for the permanent fix.  Unfortunately I can't give the exact date of release at this time.  What can be done in the meantime is to leave Wifi On (even if you're not connected).  I know that it's not ideal, but unfortunately the team is not able to create an interim update for you.  Thankfully you don't have to wait too long for the fix.  I wish I had better news for you.

Erik, no need to apologize!  The bottom line is...you folks at Symantec/Norton know what needs to be fixed...the problem will be fixed...meanwhile, there is an intermediate workaround...and lastly, the permanent fix will come soon.

The suggested workaround sounds fine, for now.  I can always connect USB power, if battery drain becomes an issue from leaving WiFi constantly on.

I'm glad all the troubleshooting helped you figure out the problem...  In the end, I would think every customer benefits.  So, I'll be anxiously awaiting the patch!

Erik, I still have the issue where the retail version of NMS will not run unless I have wireless activated on my phone.  The phone still freezes when I use NMS, unless I have wireless activated.

If memory serves, you said earlier that this issue would be fixed in the "upcoming revision" to NMS.  However, according to my NMS, I still have rev 2.0.0.214.

In a different thread on this board, I saw a member refer to "...the "retail" download version of Norton Mobile Security (versions 2.5.0.376)."

2.5.0.376??  Is that correct??  If it is correct, why has that rev not been "pushed" to users who purchased rev 2.0.0.214?  Thanks.

If you'll go to the same download page your obtained NMS from originally, you can download the new APK and it will update you to 2.5. There've been some issues in getting the 2.5 build on the LiveUpdate servers.

Erik, thank you, that worked perfectly.  Rev 2.5 works on my G2 without having to switch to wireless.  Thanks again for your help in getting the issue resolved.  (Thanks to the techs, too!)
