Re: Pass Code Retrieval - Norton Mobile Secuity

Hi WinstonBinauhan.

Welcome to the Community.

Sorry to hear of your problem.  The best thing to do is to get one of your pre-designated "buddies" to send you the SMS message "unlock" (without the quotation marks) and then to set a new passcode.

Or you could just continue trying passcodes (passwords) until you remember the right one - that is unless you think you set a limit after which the phone will wipe itself!

If the above does not work - please feel free to come back but is would be useful to know when you installed or last updated the software and whether  you happen to have the Norton Anti-Theft plugin installed?  What message are you getting from the locked phone?

Are you able to tell us what it was that caused the phone to lock?

Good luck.

Hi erwinwong.

I can see that this would be frustrating.  Hopefully we can help.  It would make it easier for us if you could answer the following three questions.

Can you tell us what version of NMS you have loaded, or when you installed or last updated it?

Exactly what message did your buddies send, and can you confirm that it was by an SMS message from phone numbers that you had set up through the buddy system in NMS when you activated the Anti-Theft feature?

Have you got the Norton Anti-Theft plugin installed and active on your device?

I look forward to hearing back from you.
