My subscription to NMS 2.0.0.214 expires August 29, 2012. I am looking at my options to renew my subscription, but can't find any answers. As I see it, my options are: (1) let the subscription expire and see if I am prompted to renew at that time (currently I cannot find any link/command in the application to renew the subscription at this time; I can see that my subscription expires in 9 days; also at what price?), (2) purchase NMS again from the Norton Web Site (or some second source) and install after my subscription runs out (this option is attractive because Norton is currently giving a 20% discount on a new purchase; can you get a 20% discount on renewals?), or (3) find another application (which I'm uncomfortable with).
Also, when I renew using the current installed application, will the application update to a more current version? Can I upgrade to the current version without charge now?
I've had problems when I initally installed the app on my cell phone and found the responses to be very helpful. Thanks.

Hi velasque
The info i can gather from Norton Support with renewals of NMS subscriptions
are as follows, and will hopefully help you make your decision on how to renew
Norton Mobile Security when it expires to keep your Android device protected.
NMS purchased from the Norton Online Store unfortunatley does not have the
Auto Renewal option like a lot of the Symantec Norton products. :-(
And that would be the same with NMS purchased from a retail store.
So from what i can gather as my subscription for NMS has another year or so left
(2 Year Suscription) so iave not tested renewals yet, is that when NMS expires you
will be prompted to renew the product with a new product key. Or you may have to
just uninstall NMS and reinstall and use a new product key to activate NMS.
So purchasing the cheapest and best deal from the Norton Online Store would be
the best move i think. The subscription will not start until you activate the product
key that you will recieve in the email from the Norton Online Store.
As for the current version question it would appear you are currently using a older
version of NMS being 2.0.0.214.
The current version of NMS should be Version 2.5.0.404.
So i would think it would be best to wait until your NMS app expires then uninsatll
and download the latest Version of NMS from the Norton Servers then install and
activate with the new product key.
Latest apk file download for NMS from this link here
Or by typing into the address bar in the Android devices internet browser the following-
I hope that information helps.

Just an update on smithy's excellent post for any later readers.
The Norton downloaded app runs out and then tells you that it has run out. It then gives you the option of renewing, this connects the the Norton server and gives you the opportunity to enter a new license code.
I assume that this will be the same for NMS originally bought from Norton direct or from third parties.
In this case it seems that you just need to shop around for the cheapest license code... :-)

Well, you might know it - I thought I was done. However, I went to the Norton Web Site to download a new copy of NMS and was unable to make use of the 20 percent discount code 20SYMNORTON2012 mentioned on the web page. The full URL is http://www.symantec-norton.com/Norton_Mobile_Secur
When I went to the purchase page and inserted the discount code, a pop-up message displayed stating "Please enter a valid coupon code". How do I get past this problem and get the discount?
I tried sending screen shots as PDF files, but your system does not allow that format. I have them available if you provide me means to get them to you. Thanks.

Hi velasque
Normally when that happens with a discount code it means it has expired and
can no longer be used. :-(

Hi velasque
Using the link you provided i was too unable to get the discounted price for NMS when
re directed to the United States Norton Online Store.:-(
I tried using the discount code on a few different countries Norton Online Stores and none of
them excepted it. So i would say it is an old promotion and has expired. :-(
You also have the alternate method of purchasing NMS, being a retail store or computer store
which may stock NMS at perhaps a better price than the Norton Online Store.
Might be worth a try.
Let us know how you go.![]()

It’s odd that the discount code expires but the code still is shown on the web site – it’s still there on the web page today. Anyway after all the dialog, I had decided to just install the free version since I do not use any of the advanced features. But I found a copy at Staples for half price, so I bought it. I don’t mind paying a reasonable price for software that I use. I'll install it in a few days when my current subscription expires.
Thanks for all the assistance and "right on" advice..

Delighted you got a good price velasque.
Good luck for the future.
