At this point we've confirmed why this issue is occurring. It appears that the customization on these devices is preventing one of the base Android API's from functioning correctly. What this means for now is that there is no solution to this unfortunately. There are two things that can be done to address this. One would be for Verizon/Motorola to ensure that the base API's function correctly. The other is for us to redesign our client to account for this special customization. We're investigating the second, but I cannot give a time frame as we need to see if it can be done for this function.

And presumably you would like nyquildriver to contact Verizon/Motorola and ask them to ensure that the base Android API's function correctly. ;-)

Thanks Erik. Any next steps or is this issue dead for Verizon razr users?

We have some new information to add as well. Apparently hiding the shutter sound would violate privacy laws in some states and countries. It looks like this issue may not be possible to address. ![]()

Thanks for this information. Anti Theft is installed on my Droid 3 and I was wondering about the Shutter Sound. Based on this bug I doubt I will use my remaining licenses. The product is of little value if it warns the thief they are being monitored.
