Hi teresasecker
Welcome to The Norton Community Forum :-)
Do you know what version of NMS you have installed on the device?
Is it 2.0 or 2.5 ?
If NMS asked you to set up a buddy when you activated the Anti-Theft
features all that the buddy has to do is SMS from his buddy phone
to your locked phone number the message-
unlock
No number is required in the message with NMS version 2.5.
But if you have earlier version of NMS that has not been updated then
you will have to follow the steps with the buddy SMS message in the
link provided -
If you have any more problems or need more help just come back
to the Forum as we are glad to assist.. ![]()
Cheers :-)
PS Let us know how you go.

Hi n_hussaini
Welcome to the Community.
The good news is - the software is doing what it is supposed to!
If you have any Buddies set then a password must have been set, as you cannot set up buddies without entering one. Therefore the first thing to do is to try and remember the password.
Although I am not aware of anyone using an international call to unlock NMS there is a good chance that it should work so just ask your buddy to send the unlock message. I am intrigued as to why you should have set up a buddy who is abroad and you do not receive messages from, however you should have at least two buddies so why not contact the second one?
One last thought. Did you have the Norton Anti-Theft plugin activated?
Please feel free to come back if the above does not help.

Hello again n_hussaini.
In that case you are pretty much down to continuing to try and remember your password. :-(
Do you know what version of NMS you have? What message did your buddy send to you? I ask as there are two formats for the unlock message. The current one in which the message should just be "unlock" (without the quotation marks) and the older one which was "unlock 987654321" where the number 987654321 represents your buddy's number without any international dialing codes, preceding zeros, spaces or other non numeric characters. So if he sent one of these formats and it did not work you might ask him to try the other.
Good luck.
