Hi rr72709.
Welcome to the Community.
Sorry to hear about your problems. So that we can try and help it would be useful if you could answer a few questions.
You say you tried your password - this sounds as if you are confident of your password - are you?
Are you aware that the password in NMS is case sensitive?
You say that you tried sending SMS messages from your buddies phones. Again this is case sensitive - can you confirm that you sent
unlock
in lower case, with no gaps or spaces?
Finally where did you get your free 90 subscription software from? [Edit: And does it have a version number that you can get at?]
I look forward to hearing.
Good luck.

Hi rr72709.
Thank you for the quick response.
I am most puzzled as to why this is not working. Please bear with me and try to answer each question as I ask it.
Are you sure of your password?
Have you used your password successfully before e.g. to access or change some Anti-Theft settings?
Can you confirm that the message "unlock" (no gaps, no spaces, no quotation marks) was sent as an SMS message from a mobile phone, identified in you buddy list, to the locked phone?
Can you access the precise version number of the NMS on your device? If so what is it (it should be something like 2.5.0.397)?
Have you got the Norton Anti-Theft plugin installed on your phone? (It is free when you have NMS installed.)
I look forward to hearing back and will try and check here again before too long.

The Samsung build should be version 2.5 at least. An important note is to make sure that your buddy is texting from the phone that you added when setting up antitheft. It's an important distinction that it's from a "registered buddy" and not just a "buddy." ![]()
As Mike pointed out, if you have the plugin installed as well, you can unlock via the web portal as well.

i think that i have not installed anti theft security which was also a part of it. so what i have to do now.

Hi rr72709.
I gather from that last post that you have not installed the Norton Anti-Theft plugin. That is unfortunate.
However can you answer the other questions I asked?

Hello again rr72709.
Thanks for coming back but I don't think I can take this any further. To recap:
You have not got the Norton Anti-Theft plugin installed - so that means of helping is not available.
You are confident of your password and aware that the password is case sensitive - but that does not unlock the phone.
You have two buddies that were set up before the lock but even when they send a SMS message of "unlock" to the locked phone it does not unlock.
This is in my experience a unique and troubling problem. I therefore think that you will have to go ahead as you propose and "format the device".
As this is so unusual however it would be very interesting to know if there were any unusual events with the phone before this happened that could possibly have corrupted the NMS app. If so I am sure we would all be interested to hear.
Sorry I cannot offer any further help. I do not know if others may have any further ideas.
Good luck.

Hi rr72709,
You can go to www.antitheft.norton.com and login using your norton account email address and password which is used to register you anti theft. You will have an option called UNLOCK. click on it and then try restarting your samsung note.
Please let me know whether it works or not.
