Hi sechelp
Welcome to the Norton Community Forum.![]()
Do you have NAT (Norton Anti-Theft ) installed on your Android device. ?
And also what version of NMS (Norton Mobile Security) do you have installed
on your Galaxy Ace. ?
Is your buddy sending just the remote command sms message unlock ?
Cheers. ![]()

Hi again sechelp
Try unlocking your Galaxy Ace by doing the following-
Login into your NAT account by using the following link.
Select your registered device in the NAT user interface.
And select Lock Device.
I know it may seem a bit strange to lock a device that is
already locked but this method can work.
Select Confirm Lock.
Create a Pin or Password and a message to be displayed
on the Norton Anti-Theft lockscreen which will be displayed
on your device.
Then select Lock This Device.
This is a remote command to lock the Galaxy Ace and will
over ride the NMS lockscreen and allow you to unlock your
Galaxy Ace.
Just enter the pin or password you created in the NAT user
interface website into the NAT lockscreen on your Galaxy
Ace and your issue should be resolved and you should now
have a unlocked Android device.
Let us know how you go.
Cheers.![]()
EDIT- If you wish to rest the password you will have to uninstall
and re-install Norton Mobile Security to set up the Anti-Theft
features again and don't forget your password.![]()
And also try to set up a few buddies if possible 3. ![]()
And also setup the Norton Anti-Theft Plugin again as well.![]()
Hope that helps.![]()

Though I remember installing NAT in my mobile, I dont remember the details required to complete the process on the link you sent. (my bad :( ). I hope theres some other way I can unlock. I have asked two of the other buddies to text me as well. Still not working. Thanks for all your help :)

Hi sechelp
Have a read of the info in the link provided and see if that helps to
unlock your Ace as you might have a older version of NMS installed.
Click on link below-

EDIT- All that is required to login to your NAT account is your Norton
Account email address and password which would have been used to
activate and register NAT with your Android device when first installed.

Hi again
Sorry i cannot assist you anymore as i cannot think of anything
else to try.
The last resort of course would be a hard reset which will set your
Galaxy Ace back to factory.
You will loose everything installed on your mobile device but the
Micro Sd Card will be safe, but to make sure you can remove it
before doing a hard reset.
You could try the following-
To fix it, just remove the battery out, then put it back again.
Don't power it ON yet, just press and hold the Volume Up,
Center button and Power button at the same time. A menu
will then appear that let choose with an option. Just use the volume
button to toggle and select the wipe data/factory reset, that will then
reset your Galaxy Ace to it's factory default settings.
Good Luck.

i just realised something. the norton lock screen says SIM card is missing, though i have my sim card in place and am receiving texts and calls. The calls get cut automatically within a single ring. I know am getting texts based on the sound alert. Also the unlock help tab in the norton lock screen enables me to call the three registered buddies as well. So is it likely that my phone is not getting unlocked inspite of getting the unlock message from the registered buddies because the norton lock screen still displays sim card missing? Thanks for your help :)
