Battery usage high?

Hi,

I just wanted to relay my experience with the Norton utilities beta. On the whole I'm very impressed with the app. All the functions I have tried work well.

However it does seem to on average utilise around 4-5% of battery usage on my HTC Desire HD (froyo 2.2.1) when using the norton widget. I think in the long term if I am to adopt this app it would have to become more lightweight.

Thanks

FG

Re: Battery usage high?

We are working on a design change right now that should have an impact on that.  One question I have is how frequently do you use the widget?

Re: Battery usage high?

That is good to hear, thanks.

I don't have the widget on my mainscreen (not sure if that impacts?) but I generally use it about once/twice per day.

At the moment the application is running as a service at 0% load with 18.2mb in RAM (according to Watchdog) and at 4% of battery usage according to the battery manager.

Re: Battery usage high?

You should see an improvement when we do our next update.  Not sure how much at the moment.

Build 27 was posted to the Android Market Wednesday.  Please update to 27 and see if you notice the same behavior.
