Can not copy install file...

When I first started using Norton Mobile Utilities (NMU) it seemed to be able to create an installation file from any app.  Later I came across an app that I could not do this with.  More recently I have come across another app that does not allow me to create an install file.

Has NMU changed or is there some feature, being used by some apps, to prevent this?

The reason I normally try this is incase an "upgrade" gives me an app that it less satisfactory for me.  Having preserved the old install file I can then roll back if I wish to.

The latest app in question is UCam the camera/photography app from Google Play.

Any more questions just ask.

Re: Can not copy install file...

No changes in that module with the latest version Mike.  There are two reasons why you wouldn't be able to copy the install file.  The first is not going to apply to you.  These are not having write access to the SD card or copy protection added to the app.  Unfortunately I don't think there's anything we can do for you for that, but I'll ask around.

Re: Can not copy install file...

Thanks Erik.

I suspected that it might be something like copy protection but was not sure if this was a recognised feature in Android apps.  Looks like it is and I will have to live with that.   :-(
