Sorry if I was not clear Erik.
NMU reports
Memory 928 MB - used 555 MB
Internal Storage total 3.74 GB - free 3.62 GB
SD card total 8.00 GB - 4.79 GB Available
-----------------------------------------
On the phone Android - Settings: Storage reports
Available space 3.62 GB
Internal Storage
Total space 8.00 GB
Available space 4.79 GB
SD card
Total space - unavailable (I have not put one in yet!)
Windows Media sync (whatever that is!)
Media sync storage
Internal storage (4.79 GB/8.00 GB)
So what the device says is "Internal Storage" NMU seems to see as SD card (which is not present)
As to what NMU is seeing as "Internal Storage" I'm not sure but presumably it is something to do with the 8 GB that seems to have gone missing from the advertised 16 GB of Internal storage. Give me a day or so and I will try delving into the knowledge banks of Motorola - if I come up with anything I will let you know.

Mike,
Could you post a screenshot of the "settings" screen?
Also, could you check to see what folders you have in the following location:
/mnt/
/sdcard/

I had not forgotten your request.
I could produce nice screen shots of my Blade but I seem to have broken the SDK toolkit with the Razr ..... :-(
I have sent Erik some details of the folder structure that I hope helps.
I have been working over what is supposed to be happening about storage on the device. I'm still not absolutely sure but this is what I think is happening. It does not seem to be simple so if you want anything clarified further please say so.
The Razr specs say it has 16 GB of "Internal Storage". I had seen reports of it having 1 GB or RAM but that was not from Motorola. From what I can see on the phone through the Menu:Settings:Storage and Menu:Applications this 16 GB is divided something along these lines:
A little less than 1 GB for running apps (RAM?) (I see 203 MB used and 521 MB free from the device reports)
Around 3.4 GB for the system apps (I deduce this from the unaccounted bit out of the 16 GB)
3.74 GB of Applications storage - 3.5 GB free
8.00 GB of Media Storage - 3.55 GB free.
And then there is the external Micro SD card which can be up to 32 GB but which only seems capable of handling music and pictures as far as I can see so far!
Now when NMU looks at the device it says it sees....
928 MB of memory (This seems to be reasonably (?) close to the Running apps RAM which the device reports as being 724 MB.)
Internal Storage of 3.74 GB with 3.5 GB free (seems to equate to the Applications Storage)
"SD Card" of 8 GB with 3.55 GB free (seems to equate to the Media storage)
What NMU does not seem to see at all, is the SD card. I have now mounted a 16 GB card in the slot and have some music and photos on it.
I am not surprised that NMU is a bit confused I certainly am. The Razr treats the 8 GB "media Storage" partition as I am used to seeing an SD card treated in terms of moving apps off onto it. In the case of the Razr I have, so far, found no way of moving apps or app data, such as maps, onto the removable SD card.
Well - did that make any sense to you? I think I now understand a bit better what is happening with the memory on the device though I do not know why the device says that available RAM is 724 MB and NMU seems to say it is 928 MB. NMU is ignoring the removable SD card but it does not seem reasonable for it to either ignore the "media Storage" or to lump that in with either "app storage" or the removable "SD card" so maybe an extra measure is needed to handle this sort of device?
If you would like any more information just ask - you may not get it, but you can ask.... ;-)

Thanks for the info Mike. The team thinks they have this fixed in the next build.

Build 104 was just posted which should address your issue. Could you check with this build?

Thanks for the heads up Erik and thanks to the team for addressing this.
As far as I can see NMU now reports exactly the same as the device itself reports on my Motorola Razr Maxx.
Great news. :-)

Hi Erik,
After updating to build 104, Norton now reports the same memory as my system.
Problem Solved, Thank You!!!
Did this build also address the Network usage issue on the MAXX I reported earlier in this discussion?
As the original reason for this post has been resolved should I start a new thread on the network usage?

That other issue should be addresses as well, but if it continues please create a seperate thread. That way if someone else sees this thread they can know it's solved.
