NMU issue - kill background apps feature

NMU kill background apps, in battery profiles, when set to on, kills a voice during a phone calls. You can not hear/ no one can hear you, but the call goes on, till you interrupt it manually. Issue found on HTC sensation, android 2.3. Voice is being killed in 1-3 min of a call. Looks like I have to add anthem into excluded apps manually, but I have no idea of what to exclude. Any advices?

Hi АндрейЛесных

Welcome to the Community.

What you report is puzzling and I cannot currently reproduce it on my phone.  One thought occurs to me - just above the box for killing background apps there is a Volume selection option.  Have you checked that, and if so, are the volume levels what you would expect?

I look forward to hearing form you.

Re: NMU issue - kill background apps feature

Thanks for your reply! Both volume levels are set to maximum. In fact, the problem appears during 1-2 min of the conversation, not exactly when you pick up the phone. I though it's a problem with my phone, but then turned a kill background apps off and issue is gone. Turned option on - again there's a problem. So I still think nma kills something connected to voice calls, either android system app or sense / radio module apps. WBR, Andrey

Re: NMU issue - kill background apps feature

Hello again АндрейЛесных.

Sounds (if you will forgive the pun) a bit odd and I have no idea why it is happening.  However what you might like to try is to switch off the Kill background apps and try making a phone call.  With the phone still connected or just afterwards have a look at what apps are running.  You could try excluding any that seem to fit the bill or even all of them and then go back and try Kill background apps.  If the problem is solved then all you have to do is remove the protection from one at a time until the problem is solved.  Simple in theory if a bit long winded to try.

I hope it helps.  If it does please come back and tell us what you found so that any future sufferers can be helped by your research.

Good luck.

АндрейЛесных you mention a kill background apps setting.  Could you detail what steps you are taking for this?  Are you referring to the "Stop All" button in the widget or in the power saver profile?  You also mentioned "Anthem".  Is this a built in process or from an App you've installed?

Re: NMU issue - kill background apps feature

My "Kill background Apps" check box clears every time I exit the battery profile.  When i go back in it is always unchecked., I know this is a slightly different issue but possibly related?!

Is there any way of ensuring the check box remains selected?

I am using a Galaxy Note on ICS

S2ubu,

This is something seperate.  I don't believe you can keep that checked in the Beta version for now.  We'll take a look, but I can't promise anything at the moment.
