File names changed

I've used Norton Back-Up to my memory stick, as part of the 360 programme, and it's made a series of folders filled with files with complete gibberish for titles.

How on earth am I supposed to know which files they are?

the main folder is named '{9412A9FC-AA87-4E86-8C70-0C21882D54E1}' and all the sub folders are named '{0',  '{1' through to number 9, in which case it becomes '{A' etc through to F.

Once within those folders, i'm faced with the following:

i have absolutely no idea what these files are?

Re: File names changed

I understand your confusion Tonia994, however, as part of keeping your files protected using your Norton product, they encrypts files that has been backed up using the Norton 360 program to make sure that it will not be hacked or something.

You can right click on a file and click on "Preview" depending on what version of Norton you are using.

Hope this would help, that's as far as my knowledge goes.:smileywink:

Hi Tonia

The details charie22 referenced are partially correct. The files you see are all part of your backups. Those files are in a propriety compression package that are not only compressed but also encrypted for your data's security. Don't mess with those files otherwise you will affect how the Norton 360 client will be able to properly as well as restore data. It's best to pretend that folder doesn't exist and let the backups run as they have been.
