Norton Snap Feedback.

Hi this App is great, just what i expected from a highly  trusted Internet Security company and Android App developer

The User Interface is good and easy to use, and the camera on my device ( Samsung Galaxy S 2) and the Norton Snap App work well together to scan the QR code very quickly and without any issues.

And you have to love the audio sound that the App makes when the QR code is succesfully scanned-"SNAP" just like the Apps name Norton Snap.

It is very fast to give the QR code link a Norton rating using Safe Web and can then be opened using your favourite browser if you have multiple browsers or if it is a link for a Android Market App you can choose to use Market to open the QR code link.

And it is also handy to be able to manually enter a a website address and get Norton Snap to scan with Safe Web before opening the webiste with my selected browser, nice.

I really think Symantec Norton has done a great job with this QR code App as it still is in the Beta stage. The one thing i could see as a possible addition would be if i could use Norton Snap  to scan QR codes saved to internal memory or sd card of  the device the Norton Snap  App is installed on.

Because a QR code could be sent to me by email or MMS and i could then download and save the QR code and then use Norton Snap to scan and check the link to see if it safe before i open it.

I really think that would be a great addition to a already very good App that i think will just get better and better thru it's Beta development stages.

Keep up the good work Symantec Norton Developers.

Cheers

Hi Smithy,

Thanks for all the great feedback. It's good to hear that you're finding Norton Snap to be valuable.

The point you bring up about being able to scan images of QR codes that are saved to your phone is a good one. We'll keep that in mind as a possible addition.

Thanks,

Andy

Hi Andy i am always glad to give feedback and test such a uesfull App like Norton Snap.

Got to play with it a bit more but so far i would give it 4 stars which i think  is a great start for a Beta app which will improve with time and development.

Cheers

Re: Norton Snap Feedback.

This thread is old, but I didn't know there was an area for Snap and I just found it today, so wish to add that I really like Snap and it is very polished for a Beta version.

I agree about being able to save QR codes, or ... I wish I could 'press and hold' and have a 'context menu' popup that has an option to 'Send to Snap' that I could tap. I say that because I was at a website on my phone and it said to scan the QR code but I had no idea how to get to Snap without backing out of the website. I tried the buttons on my phone but couldn't figure out how to 'do two things at once'.

Maybe there is a way and I just need to learn how to do it ... but being able to have Snap in a context menu when pressing on the QR Code or having it be able to find a saved one would be very helpful.

Good job, Symantec/Norton crew ... tin

Re: Norton Snap Feedback.

Hi tin,

Thanks for the feedback. And being able to scan a QR code on a website while browsing with your mobile browser would be useful. There are a couple of different ways to do it, we'll do some thinking about it.
