Product suggestion/enhancement for Snap

Hi there:

I would like to suggest that the Snap app be "Camera aware."

That is, once the Camera is activated, there is no need for the user to invoke the app,

since Snap would be running (in this case) as a background process.

Cheers!

Re: Product suggestion/enhancement for Snap

Thanks for the suggestion Atomic_Blast. What you want is to be able to activate the camera to take pictures, and if it happens to encounter a QR code during picture taking, it would send that image to the Snap app, right? That's not currently possible with iOS, and I'm not sure if it's possible to do with Android either. We'll look into it to confirm.

Thanks,

Andy

Hi Andy:

Just to clarify what I was thinking....

The Snap app would have a "toggle" built-in to enable/disable automatic QR code reading.

If enabled, Snap would run in the background and when the camera is activated it would automatically detect the QR code from the active Snap app. In essence, the app would really be doing the imaging work, etc. Sorry if I might have been unclear.

Thanks for your response. Cheers!

Re: Product suggestion/enhancement for Snap

Hello ... Snap user. The toggle would be an absolute must because I would never want Snap to behave that way. I just had to redownload and install Snap today and the first thing I did was change the setting to go straight to scanning on opening the app.

I like it to open with all the options that are available and not go straight into scanning for something.

I like Snap. I have another QR code reader and it doesn't automatically align on the QR code, recognizing the corners with the blinking green and Snap! ... Snap is easy and the check on the website is a must feature as I am leery of where I might end up with these QR codes ... good little scanner app.
