Re: Norton Tablet Security and Norton Anti-Theft lacking important features

Got a nice replacement and will report the log once it occurs. So far it occured only once.

On the side: the AT module is in my opinion too delicate. On a locked device I could access my taskbar menu -  for example disable WiFi, or see the list of running applications.

Well, I seem it bit impossible to log this situation it would require of me to keep the log running for hours to catch the moment when it happens.

Still the result is as previously described: sometime I can see the disabled notification and when I go inside the AntiTheft app from this notification everything is yellow saying that NTS has been uninstalled. After few seconds it goes green ;)

Re: Norton Tablet Security and Norton Anti-Theft lacking important features

Hi ankhazam.

If this is an odd event it seems even more important to try and get a log for Norton to study.  Why not start up Catlog whenever you can and leave it running.  If this causes you problems then close it down but otherwise just let it run.

Or you could try starting it and then see if the problem is there.  No problem nothing lost but if it shows up you have what is wanted.

I know this must be frustrating but it is probably just about as frustrating for the Norton staff trying to recreate it without all the information.

Good luck.

Re: Norton Tablet Security and Norton Anti-Theft lacking important features

I am sorry but I won't be able to provide any more  feedback for now as I have returned my unit and I am waiting for new tablets to be available on the market.

Best regards,

Re: Norton Tablet Security and Norton Anti-Theft lacking important features

It appears that none of the issues in the first post in this thread have been addressed.

1) It mustn't spam any information after being installed -- especially that it is disabled with no internet connection!!! This product should be completely silent and transparent once set-up so the potential thief will have no idea of its exitstence
2) NTS should be lockable using a simple Code/PIN mechanism so that no one could mess with the settings once setup.
3) NTS and AntiTheft should be protected from uninstallation (I've met such features in freeware security software fr android) They should have only an option to uninstall themselves from within the application (again after providing the security pin/code)

In addition I see that if I disable gps and google location the web interface no longer is able to locate the tablet. A thief could easily do this rendering even a silent and transparent anti-theft useless. Comment?

The notifications aren't actually spam.  The product is encountering a temporary problem that we're trying to reproduce.  If you have logs that will help us to try and pinpoint the cause.  Would you be willing to collect logs?

As to the other items, the team is working on the next release.  The team has listened to the feedback from everyone.  Quite a few changes are in order.

Thanks Eric,

I'm not seeing any problems so my logs probably aren't of any interest. The spam reference was in the bit I copied from the first post in the thread - a puzzling use of the term for app notifications.
