Norton Tablet Security is now available!

[ Edited ]

I’m Dave Kim, Product Manager for Norton Mobile. I’m really excited to announce the launch of our new security product, Norton Tablet Security!

Norton Tablet Security is available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), and Brazilian Portuguese. Initially, you can buy it from your local retailer.

It’s no secret that tablets are hot right now. According to a recent survey, nearly one out of three people either already own or plan to purchase a tablet in the next 12 months. There will be a estimated 51 million tablets sold in 2011 and 72 million in 2012. As we do more on our phones and tablets, we are putting more of our lives onto them. You not only need to protect the device itself, but also the information on the device and your identity. And if you lose that device, you’ve now lost your personal information, identity, and potentially even your money.

Because of this, we are releasing Norton Tablet Security, a paid security application for Android-based tablets. It offers most of the same features as Norton Mobile Security such as web protection and anti-malware. We are introducing web-based anti-theft features to take advantage of the larger tablet screen.

Key Norton Tablet Security features include:

- Tablet-optimized design. Designed specifically for tablets with a brand new look and feel.
- Anti-Malware. Scan existing applications on the device and SD card and all new downloads to for malware.
- Web Protection. Browse safely while our Norton Safe Web technology blocks fraudulent and malicious websites.
- Web-based Anti-Theft. By logging in through a web browser, access anti-theft features like:
+ Remote Lock. Remotely lock your lost or stolen device to prevent your information from being stolen. In addition, add a default or custom “device lost” message to the lock screen.
+ Remote Locate. Locate your device on a map and show the most recent locations.
+ Sneak Peek. Remotely take a photo with the tablet camera that is uploaded to the anti-theft site to help you see who has your device.

Thanks for your continued interest in and feedback on our Norton mobile products!
