Tablet security

Hi.

I recently purchased a blackberry playbook from curries-pc world. With it, I was advised to use the Norton tablet security product.  I have just died to install it according to the instructions in the box, but when I try to open the download, a message saying "unable to find default app" comes onto the screen. No option comes up to change the settings, so I am at a loss as to what to do, and am panicking that I could pick up a virus while the tablet is unprotected.

I look forward to receiving your help,

Re: Tablet security

Hi kristi-marie_94.

Welcome to the Community.

I'm sorry to say that it appears that curries-pc world have miss sold you the Norton app as it is not designed to work on a Blackberry playbook which I believe does not run Android but a specific Blackberry operating system.

I don't think you need to worry to much about catching anything immediately given the device you have and provided you don't try anything too adventurous like downloading apps from third party sites.  But I do recommend that you go back to Curries and ask for your money back.  It should be a good learning experience for them.  Should they decline (though I can't see that they have a legal leg to stand on if they do) please come back and let us know.

You may also like to look at this thread where the original poster seems to have had similar problems with Dixons.

I hope that helps.

Good luck.
