As usual, a nightmare getting N toolbar and password security to work in updated FF

Yes, it seems most people can upgrade FF and the NSS, toolbar, and security menu work fine or easily updated.

Not me. When FF upgrades, it takes me evening to get it working.

I did NOT WANT FF13, so used the FFversion12 program from another computer. Sure enough, mozilla decided they know what I want so they installed V13.

i have the latest NSS stuff: toolbar 2012.5.0.140, and Vulernatibily Protection 10.1.0.68-1.

Does not matter, FF refuses to enable. Worse, I try to download NSS Toolbar and it refuses to run because it says I already have it.

Catch 22 loop.

Do I just give up and try to get an older FF to install?

Is NSS Comcast 6.2.1.5 and Toolbar 2012.5.4.6 the latest for FF 13?

Usual problem with FF. I wanted to keep V12, but it downloaed and installed anyway. I have run norton live update about 10 times,  rebooted about 5 times, and it continues to say the toolbar is disabled. There is no button eo enbable it.

Live update did update the vulerabilty protection from 10.1.0.68 to 11.00.0.243-1, and it shows enabled.

but I want the toolbar with identity safe.

I note this is the comcast version of NSS which seems to make a diff

Re: Is NSS Comcast 6.2.1.5 and Toolbar 2012.5.4.6 the latest for FF 13?

I have since learned the latest toolbar V is 2012.7.3.1.

But nowhere can I find that on the nortons site.

I run live update, and it says my V201.5.0.140 is the latest.

Very confusing and frustrating.

After you run Liveupdate (rebooting as requested until it repsonds "No updates Found" and reboot one more time - please let us know what your NTB Version is.

Many thanks.

I ran live update repeatedy, and the NTB did go from 2012.5.0.140 to 2012.5.4.6, but thatis as far as it goes.

It does continue to say it updated "pulse updates", but does not give more info.

Re: As usual, a nightmare getting N toolbar and password security to work in updated FF

It seems you may not have the latest updates. Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.

See Yank's reply and the following posts in this thread

Re: As usual, a nightmare getting N toolbar and password security to work in updated FF

Hi robertpri007,

First things first - it appears you are not totally upgraded to Norton Security Suite version 6. Please go to Support >About on the main page of NSS and tell us your version number.

Version 6.2.1.5 is the latest version and if that is not installed, then the Norton Toolbar will not be displayed in FF 13 (which you said you have).

Please tellus the version number and we'll be able to get you upgraded from that info.
