Just for the fun of it, can you try accessing again from the following link?
https://identitysafe.norton.com/password-generator
It probably wont make any difference but I saw something (or at least think I did) in the raw HTML code that made me wonder...
Allen
Sorry Allen, Same result - No difference...
Thanks for trying...
John
Hi John,
Yeah I thought it would ultimately not make a difference but it was worth a shot. When I pulled up the original link in the editor and switched to HTML tab there appeared to be a wierd control character in the middle of the link....Apparently that was a glitch in the edtor then because when I do the same thing now I don't see that..
Prasanna, you are up now! ![]()

Hi Allen,
I just got back from a night of bowling and saw this thread - I actually sent prasanna a PM about not being able to get to the Password Generator this morning @ 11:50 AM CDST. The OPM has not been opened yet.
I am in Mississippi and can not get to the password generator. I get the same page as others do.
BTW, I tried a cached Google page and got to the generator once this morning, but since it was cached, it wouldn't work???
It appeard to me in some cases the page I was seeking would pop up and then redirct to the page most of us are getting. I even tried the link in the Other Products sticky and ended up the same place.

Hi Allen/Yank,
Thanks for reporting this.
Could you please try this workaround to open password generator link :
Open the link https://identitysafe.norton.com/password-generator after disabling addons for Norton Toolbar.
The problem is, if we have Norton Toolbar on the browser, it is redirecting Identitysafe Homepage.
The reason is the url has download link to install IDSS(Identity Safe Standalone). If someone trying to download and install IDSS, it will block the installation since we have Norton toolbar already present in NIS/N360. To avoid that we are redirecting to identity safe home page, but we need to have access to password generator. We will check that issue from ourside.
Thanks,
Senthil

Hi Senthil,
Thanks but I am somewhat confused still. Why does this link work for myself and 1 or 2 other users but not for the rest? I have the toolbar and have not disabled it, yet the link works for me. ![]()
Thanks much

Hi Allen,
I guess you are using NIS 19.8.0.14, since we don't have Identitysafe home feature in NIS 2012, you and few others are able to navigate to that particular url.
We will have problem only when we have Identitysafe home feature in the product (NIS/N360).
Hope this helps
Thanks,
Senthil

I had the same problem as the posts above. I tried all the links and got the IDSafe page.
Since I'm not as knowledgeable as many of you, I was not able to follow the instructions and disable "Add ons" for the toolbar, which was active.
I disabled the toolbar, and tried the link successfully.
This is a great feature, but I think that they need to 1) fix the add on problem, and 2) incorporate this directly into IDSafe so that you don't have to go onto the net to use it.

I agree completely. I tried disabling the toolbar and was able to access the web site, but that's just silly to have to do that every time.

Confirmed...
All of the posted URLs work in all three browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox) using NIS2012 with the associated Norton toolbars in each enabled.
None of the URLs work in any of the three browsers using NIS2013 with the associated Norton toolbars in each enabled.
All of the posted URLs work in all three browsers using NIS2013 as long as the Norton browser addins are disabled.
But a question remains...
Why does Allen's NIS2013 browser toolbar plugins work with these URLs while ours do not?
Does this go back to my original suspicion that it has to do with not having an online vault active/accessible?

Hi senthilkumar
The issue may already be logged in your system as I did point out two weeks ago that NIS 2013 beta testers would experience redirection problems when visiting the Norton identitysafe site:
As the link above points to a transient forum board, that post has been reproduced below:

I want to hear a detailed post from Symantec on why is the fb share button so important, and why cannot be this turned off?
The short answer will most likely be that they are bringing the Identity Safe toolbar in the 2013 products into alignment with the current standalone version of the free Identity Safe toolbar:
https://identitysafe.norton.com/features
(Beta testers may experience redirection problems with the link above)
As far as the paid product is concerned, however, the 'Share' feature needs to follow the same design as the 'Norton Safe Search' feature and offer users the option to enable/disable this feature at will. Paying users have already committed to using the toolbar through purchase of the product and, consequently, do not need a gimmick like the Share feature in order to hold and retain interest in using the Norton Identity Safe toolbar.
