Norton Toolbar / Norton Identity Safe

I'm using google chrome.  Recently I have been getting the message "could not load Norton confidential".  For some reason it is happened recently on many of the website that I have sentup as favorites.  The web page comes up extreme slow and you cannot click on any links like it is frozen.  However when I click on other tab in goole chrome and go back it is running normal and it is no longer frozen.  Does anyone know what the problem or issue is?

The Norton Confidential issue is a very long running one. There are no easy answers. Those of us who use Chrome deal with it the best we can. First, is the Norton extension enabled.

Wrench icon upper right > Tools > Extensions > Norton Identity Protection 2012.5.4.6 > Enabled > Check Marked. Do you have the latest version of Chrome installed ... 21.0.1180.60.

Wish I could be of more help. The Norton Confidential issue continues to this day. It affects different Chrome users in different ways.

Thanks Ed, I was having the same issue and your suggestions cleard up my problem.  I thought I had the most recent update for Chrome, but it was just waiting for final updating.

Glad to be of some help.

Even though Chrome updates itself, I am one who is somewhat impatient for the updates. Since Chrome can and will update at any given time, interrupting what you are doing, I have gotten into the habit of checking for updates manually.

At the beginning of my computing day, or night, after opening Chrome I check for updates manually. Wrench icon > About Google Chrome. If there are no updates, then I go about my business. If the dialog box that appears says, Installing New Version, then I sit back and let it finish, relaunching the browser when prompted.

This may not be for everyone, but it works great for me.

I'm not only updated constantly, but I'm not interrupted by the updating either.

When you say, Dragon, are you referring to the Comodo Dragon browser, or some dragon game ?

Either way hold on, another forum member might be able to shed some light on this. I have little to no knowledge of that browser or any computer games

I, too, use Chrome and just started seeing this issue today with Norton 360 (Version 6.3.0.14 provided by Comcast as Norton Security Suite) and Chrome 22.0.1229.79.

It seems to be related to particular web sites.

One web site which seems to trigger the issue is: http://www.dailykos.com/

Hopefully Symantec will find out what is causing this and push out an update.
