I assume you meant the one about deleting the extensions.ini, etc files. I've just tried this with no success. One interesting point, and I don't know how relevant this is, but there were three files listed (extensions.ini, extensions.cache, and extensions.rdf), but only two of them existed on my system - ini, and rdf. I deleted them and started FF again, but no luck.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Chris,
Some time has passed. Try a manual live update of Norton and see if it catches the needed data.

Hi Dick
Thanks for the suggestion. I've just tried it, and run LiveUpdate a couple of times, just to be sure. I got 6 updates, but still no FireFox toolbar.![]()
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
This is a situation I have come across before in NIS, N360 and NSS with previous FF upgrades. Following the exact procedure that follows has produced the desired results of the NTB appearing in FF. Do not add any addtional steps such as running the Norton Removal Tool, as that will cause you to lose your ID Safe, customised ssettings and will also remove any other Norton programs you may happen to have installed.
Please do the following in the exact order I list:
Totally uninstall Firefox
Download a fresh copy of Firefox 13 from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/
Install the fresh copy of firefox.
Download a fresh copy of NIS 2012 from here: www.norton.com/nis12
If you use Identity Safe, backup your Identity Safe data. Due to the critical nature of the information contained in ID safe we would recommend backing that up manually first just as a precaution even though you will choose to retain all settings when removing NIS.
Remove NIS using Programs and Features (Add/Remove Programs if you are using XP) - do not run the NRT as you'll want to keep your Identitiy Safe and other settings.
Install the fresh copy of NIS.. Run LiveUpdate as many times as necessary for it to respond that there are "no updates found" (rebooting as requested by LiveUpdate).
Once all that is done in the order I am asking for you to do it, please check Firefox 13 and let us know the version number (hopefully it will now show "Release") and also look at "Add-on's" and see if Norton Toolbar 2012.7.3.1 and Norton Vulernability Protection 10.1.1.8-4 are listed and shown as enabled.
Do you now have the Norton Toolbar in FF 13

There is another, newer, thread with this suggestion; I just followed it and had success. I followed the steps exactly as yank suggested and wound up with FF 13.0.1 and the two toolbars for Norton.
On FF I had to go to Add-ons/Extensions and enable the two toolbars and restart FF but now they work fine. I'm in the US and am using Norton Security Suite.
Good luck to other with this issue.

Success!!!
Sorry I haven't been able to reply earlier - I've been busy with other things, and haven't had a chance to get back to this problem.
Anyway, I followed your instructions, yank, and I now have the toolbar in FF13! Thanks very much to you and to all who offered solutions.
As per your request, the version of Firefox is 13.0.1. The version doesn't say anything about "release", although the about box does tell me I'm on the "release channel", but that was how it was before. The version of the NIS toolbar is 2012.7.3.1.
Thanks again!
Chris

@ Chris F - glad you got it sorted and the Release channel in About is what I was referring to.

having the same problem with firefox 13, using win7 ultimate. Already removed firefox amd norton internet security 2012 (latest updates) installed firefox 13 again and then norton internet security .... but got the same result no toolbar when I go to the section extentions, in firefox, I see this: Norton Toolbar 2012.5.4.6 is disabled and I can't anable or uninstall it in anyway even in safemode firefox. Now it comes, on my netbook, win7 starter and firefox 11 and norton internet security 2012, I updated the norton and firefox (to version 13) and still my toolbar is present .... don't know why but it is the only thing I noticed is that the extention on my pc is norton NortonToolbar 2012.5.4.6 and on my netbook NortonToolbar 2012.7.3.1
How can I fix this problem? is this a register problem?

You need to run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
Then check your add ons, and you should see version 2012.7.3.1 of the Norton Toolbar. Click Enable if the toolbar is not visible.
