I am facing this issue after upgrading to v19.7.0.9 of Norton Internet Security 2012. For some reason, when I go to Identity Safe -> Edit Logins, either from settings or directly from one of the supported browsers, I see that some logins display partial passwords, when I click on Show.
I emphasize, that only some logins are effected & not all. But what is even more baffling is that the said logins work correctly on the respective websites - so, Identity Safe toolbar must be entering the correct password!
When I first saw this issue, I thought Identity Safe has erroneously edited those passwords without my knowledge, an improbable event unless its some bug?
I would suggest that if anyone else is facing this issue, please post on this thread.
NOTE: I have a large number of logins with some very long & complex passwords - the most important accounts have passwords upto 16 characters long. If you're one such user of Identity Safe [i.e. large number of logins & with long passwords], I shall be grateful if you can check them through Edit Logins & post here if you're facing this issue.
The issue also seems to be prevalent on new signups, especially. Like, I recently purchased an Android device from Sony & I signed up with XDA Devs Forum, Android Central & Sony itself. Barring Android Central, the rest were showing partial passwords, even though the actual website logins were working correctly.
Thank you!

Ok, I thought I might also give an example. If the password for a site is, tiufy*#$8wWE, its displayed tiufy*#$8. The rest seems to have been truncated.

Hi Botkiller4,
Sorry for the issue you are facing. Could you provide list of URLs in which you are facing the issue.
Thanks,
Senthil.

Hello Senthil.
This issue is NOT URL specific. As I have said, the logins actually work correctly while logging in to those websites.
Only if I view them from Logins [in Advanced main menu], or from some supported browser [Identify Safe -> Options -> Edit Logins], or from Settings menu, only part of the whole password is displayed.

Hi botkiller4,
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for the example that you provided. I have been trying to reproduce this issue with having a large number of logins and long password, and so far I haven’t been successful. I have a few questions that may help us in reproducing it:
- What Operating system you are using?
- Are you using the online vault or the local vault?
- Did you have any older version of Norton Internet Security prior to 2012 on this machine?
- If you create a new login with a long password, do you see the same issue?
Thanks,
Zohreh

- First of all, I am using Windows Vista Home Premium with SP2 [fully patched], 32-bit edition.
- I am using the local vault.
- No, Norton Internet Security 2012 has been the only version since my last system partion [image] restore.
- No, not for all instances.
As examples, I recently noticed the issue for the first time after signing up for Sony Mobile [https://account.sonymobile.com/logininline], XDA Devs [http://forum.xda-developers.com/index.php], Web Of Trust [https://www.mywot.com/en/user/login; I have not used this login for a long time though], and my ISP specific URLs [usually, variations of http://register.bol.net.in; these date back to when Identity Safe was introduced - though I keep changing my passwords
] have been affected.
I hope these details can help.
Thanks!
