This is actually a problem that has existed for some time. Let me concentrate on what happened today.
I already had a username and password for my Dell account. Today, i tried to add a username and password for Dell Financial Services, which manages my charge account with Dell. Although both sites exist on the same domain, they require different usernames and passwords.
After creating the new listing, I tried to access it; but it wasn't there. I went back into "Manage" and found the name for the listing was the same as the address; this may have been my own goof, but I include it for the sake of completeness. So, I changed the name to "Dell Financial Services," exited the "Manage" function and looked at my list again. Now only the new listing appeared; the old Dell Communities listing had vanished. Although both listings appear to be creatable, and savable, in "Manage," only one or the oher will be displayed.
It isn't as simple as having the same first name. I changed "Dell Financial Services" to "DFS" and the problerm persisted. It isn't as simple as having two logons on the same domain, either, because I have multiple logons to various gmail accounts, all keyed to Google's gmail page, and there's no problem there.
I experienced something similar several years ago with AT&T accounts. I have two AT&T accounts, and Identity Safe would only display one. I did not report it at the time because it was too much trouble. I only have two days off each week, and I have now spent several hours of one of them dealing with software and website glitches, of which this is only one.
I'd like to know if this problem is something I can work around or something Norton can fix. I really don't want to start giving things exotic names just so Identity Safe will display them; then, I'd need a program to keep a list of exotic names ... well, it sort of defeats the purpose of having a program like Identity Safe, doesn't it?
Looking forward to your reply.
UPDATE: I discovered after posting this that I had written another post about a year-and-a-half ago about the same problem. I looked at that thread and saw where someone had come up with a fix -- I won't call it a solution -- which apparently works for some people but not for others. I tried it. It doesn't work for me.
