Identity Safe network error

[ Edited ]

I have N360 installed on Windows 8. If the Windows account sets to live account, than the connection with Symantec server is problematic if I use broadband connection.

Reproducible: YES

Reproduction steps, after you have the ISafe initializing with normal Windows account:

  1. Windows -> Change PC settings/Users/”Switch to Microsoft account” button (I am standard user…)
  2. Follow the steps
  3. Shut down the computer
  4. Start computer
  5. Log in to newly configured Microsoft account
  6. Start Internet Explorer
  7. Click on “Vault Closed” button
  8. The “Sign in to Norton account” window appears
  9. Try to sign in with correct attributes
  10. Error appears with “A network error is preventing access to your Norton account….” message
  11. Click OK on error window
  12. Close the “Sign in to Norton account” window that remained open with X
  13. The “Open Vault” window appears, and there is the sentence about you are logged in to the Norton account
  14.  You can sign in to the vault

See attached pictures.

WITH NORMAL WINDOWS ACCOUNT IT WORKS CORRECTLY, AND THIS ISSUE IS NOT REPRODUCTABLE!

If you setup N360 with Microsoft account (live), then the problem is initially greater, before reproduction please make a login to Norton account with normal Windows 8 account!

Configuration:

Asus N53S

Windows 8 with UEFI installed

Huawei E398 USB modem, but not with Huawei manager software, but Windows 8 built in software. (That mode of using can connect before login)

N360 version: 20.2.0.19

(Before this problem the ISafe crashed the browser, but now it is good. (I don’t know, but I think, because I switched off the cost management in N360 networks settings, and I remove the broadband connection from metered connections in Windows….)

This morning I have a similar problem but on Internet Security 2013 & using an administrator account on Win7 (not live account). I also noticed that I was not logged into my Norton account upon choosing to open the vault, logged in then had problems actually opening the vault which eventually timed out with the same error. No longer impressed by Norton.
