Unbelievable. I've been hunting for how to switch to my local vault for ages and it's been right in front of my face all along.
And here's the thing... I switch to Local Vault again, and the problem goes away. So it's definitely something to do with the Online Vault. A delay in communication with the server perhaps?

Hi BrettOnTheNet,
FWIW, the only delay I have ever seen with the online vault is when it is "synching" - but it has displayed the spinning wheel and the word synching when doing it.
Just curious, you mentioned 2 systems. "Did I mention that this is happening on two machines using the same online vault. Both machines started misbehaving in the same way at the same time. And actually it was not long after I switched to using the online vault, now that I think about it."
You mentioned removing and reinstalling N 360 - did you infact try to do the same on the second system? Weird things happen from time to time and I guess there is a possibility that the 2nd system could be affecting the 1st system when using the online vault - but has no effect when they are using the local vault.
Just a wild idea.

I have not tried doing that on the second system. I will give it a go.
Right now I am using the local vault, and all the problems have disappeared.

I hate to bother you but how did you switch to a local vault. For that matter, how can you tell which vault you are using?

When you are loggin to identity safe the pane that opens will indicate (local) or (online) to show you which vault you are using.
I haven't tried to switch back to local since my online seems to be working. I try not to fix things that aren't broken ![]()

Update:
On my Vista machine I reinstalled Norton 360 from scratch. I also downloaded my online vault and reinstalled my local vault using the passwords from the online backup. I also went into Firefox and deleted all the extensions I no longer use. My online vault now works flawlessly. Not just in FF, but in Chrome too... which was previously also problematic.
So I am not sure what fixed it, Of course I was checking it all the way through that process, and it was not until that I deleted a bunch of extensions in FF that the problem cleared up. Why (or even whether) this impacted my experience when using Chrome ... well I have No Idea!
However... I then followed exactly the same process on my XP machine. Uninstalled Norton, reinstalled it. Downloaded my online vault. and replaced my local vault. Deleted all my unused plugins.
This did not work. I am still experiencing 5-10 second delays when using my online vault. No delay whatsoever using my local vault.
Confused!!

@mickkassem
It's possible you have deleted your local vault when setting up the online one. If so then you will have to create a new local vault. You can backup your logins/passwords from the online vault and restore them into your new local vault.
