I received a new update to NIS (V12.0). The toolbar is visible in IE but not in my default browser Firefox 12.0. Any suggestions how to restore it would be helpful.

Make sure you have run LiveUpdate manually , rebooting as necessary, as many times as it takes to get the message there are no more updates available.
Then in Firefox, go to Tools - Add ons, and make sure that Norton Toolbar and Norton Vulnerability Protection are both enabled.

I made a mistake in my last post. The NIS version is 19.7.0.9 in which the toolbar is not showing in Firefox 12.0. Sorry

From the Firefox 12 menu bar click Tools --> Extentions and add Norton Tool Bar and Norton Vulnerability Protection.
For a more complete answer see the message near the top of the forum Firefox 12 support for Norton Toobar

Well, glad I'm not the only one who can't get nortons toolbar to work in FF12.
I did many searches in FF12 addons, and it shows 174 possiblle toolbars and add ons.
Nothing from Nortons
I have the latest NSS Comcast V 5.2.1.3
My IE 9 has the nortons' toolbar, but I really dislike IE
i have rebooted and reinstalled FF12 a few times.
Any help? [I didn't realize how much I love my nortons toolbar until it was gone!]

Just to echo the comments here about the missing Norton Internet Security Toolbar.
I upgraded to Firefox 12 only to find my toolbar disabled. It's listed as version 2012.2.2.5
I've activated LiveUpdate and rebooted three times to no effect.
Checking add-ons tells the add-on was "Last Updated May 6" but there are no options
to enable/disable/other and it remains listed as version 2012.2.2.5
The Norton Toolbar post from Tony Weiss on this forum states that the Toolbar is
working with the latest version of NIS:
Norton Internet Security 2012 (19.7)
Norton Toolbar: 2012.5.3.7
Norton Vulnerability Protection: 10.1.0.68 - 3
but when I check my "About" details, it tells me I'm running NIS 19.2.0.10.
Checking "New Version: tells me I am running the latest version.
I even downloaded the "autodetect" package and it confirms I'm
running the latest release.
I hope somebody can provide a solution.
Thanks!

Hi Johnly,
Welcome to Norton community,
We should have latest version of NIS 2012 19.7.0.9 to have Norton Toolbar support for Firefox 12. We can get this version in two ways
1. Please run Live update until there are "no updates required" and restart the system whenever it asks for reboot and check the behavior again. OR
2. Please use remove and reinstall to install latest version of NIS 2012. Download remove and reinstall tool from here www.norton.com/nrnr and follow the instructions which are mentioned there. Before running the tool make sure to take backup of identity safe data using export option in IDSafe
Thanks,
Senthil.

Hi robertpri007,
You have the latest version of NSS 5.2.1.3
However, I'd still like for you to run manual LiveUpdate (rebooting when requested) as many times as it take until LiveUpdate responds - "no more updates available", then reboot one last time.
Please then check if your add-ons for Norton Tool Bar and Symantec Intrustion Prevention are present and Enabled.
The latest version of Norton Toolbar in FF 12 should be 2011.7.7.5 and the Symantec Intrusion Prevention should be 10.1.1.8-3.
If not present. there is no way to directly download the correct extentions for FF 12. Sometimes (and yours seems to be one of these cases) it is necessary to do things in a set order so that certaian updates are appiled in the correct sequence and we have found the following procedure works - when followed in the exact order suggested.
This is a situation I have come across before in NIS, N360 and NSS with past FF versions. Following the exact procedure that follows has produced the desired results of the NTB appearing in FF. Do not add any addtional steps such as running the Norton Removal Tool, as that will cause you to lose your ID Safe, customised settings and will also remove any other Norton programs you may happen to have installed.
Please do the following in the order I list:
Totally uninstall Firefox
Download a fresh copy of Firefox 12 from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/
Install the fresh copy of firefox.
Remove Norton Security Suite using Programs and Features (Add/Remove Programs if you are using XP) - do not run the NRT as you'll want to keep your Identitiy Safe and other settings.
Download a fresh copy of Norton 360 from here: http://xfinity.comcast.net/constantguard/Products/CGPS/norton/
Please click on the No Thanks Button on the Constant Guard Protection Suite popup. This will rerveal the Get It Now Button which whenclicked will begin your Nortron Security Suite download.
Install the fresh copy of Norton Security Suite. Run LiveUpdate as many times as necessary for it to respond that there are no updates available (rebooting as requested by LiveUpdate).
Once all that is done in the order I am asking for you to do it, please check Firefox 12 and look at "Add-on's" and see if Norton Toolbar 2011.7.7.5 and Symantec IPS 10.1.1.8-3 are listed and shown as enabled.
Do you now have the Norton Toolbar in FF 12?
Please let us know how this goes.

Updating my post. After numerous reboots and searches in FF12, the list of available add ons is now 186.
Nothing from Nortons.
Sorting by date, the lastest toolbar is April 2, 2012, called Mp3skull.
I do have symantec infusion prevention,10.1.1.8-3, but no toolbar.
I also have nortons toolbar v 2011.7.5.1 which of course is outdated and disabled.
FF will not let me remove this old toolbar- The options are only to disable it.
When clicking to check compatibility, it shows that old nortons toolbar but will not give me an option to remove it.
Any ideas? What am i doing wrong?
