Login assistance

I saw a couple of screenshots of the 2012 ID Safe that mention "login assistance."  What does it do and how is it different from "vault open"?  In the 2012 version there is only one button listing all the logins.  Are they making things harder for the 2013 version?  The toolbar is way longer as a result.  Just a request: can somebody post a "minimized" toolbar?  Just go to Norton toolbar --> minimize.

When in doubt, uninstall / reinstall :smileywink:

NIS2012 IE Toolbar (Normal View)...

NIS2012 IE Toolbar (Minimized View)...

Note that neither the Chrome nor Firefox NIS2012 Toolbars offer a minimized view option.  I think this may be because those browsers (as far as I am aware) do not allow adjacent toolbars to be parked together on the same horizontal line in the manner that the MS IE browsers do.

Re: Login assistance

I meant the 2013 toolbar not 2012. I'm not talking about the 2012. Replace all instances of 2012 with 2013. I would like a screenshot of the minimized 2013 toolbar and wanted to know what login assistance in the 2013 product does.
When in doubt, uninstall / reinstall :smileywink:

Hi WLP,

Login assistant is a new feature included in NIS/N360,

When you are visiting a login page for which you have already saved a login credentials and if there is any auto fill issue(  fails to fill login credentials automatically) for that page, then you can launch that login assistant to view/copy the logins/cards for that particular page.

Note: Even if you have don't have logins for that page, you can view/copy all logins/cards to fill that page.

Thanks,

Senthil.

..And...

None of the 2013 browser toolbar plugins offer a minimized view option.  What you see is what you get...no option(s) to alter the appearance - aside from disabling them completely, of course.

Wait what?  NIS2012 and below offer a "minimize view."  And so login assistance is the same as opening up the Login list in NIS2012 and copying the login details yourself?

Edit: I posted a suggestion to mimize the toolbar: http://community.norton.com/t5/Product-Suggestions/Offer-ability-to-quot-mimize-quot-the-Norton-2013....  Hopefully you and others support this and Symantec will listen!

When in doubt, uninstall / reinstall :smileywink:

I "for one" would like to see the minimized view option restored.  I'd also like to see -

 - a disable option for the share button,

 - the background color actually matching the other IE toolbars,

 - and most importantly, return the ability to create and maintain a local password/credentials/notes storage vault.

Re: Login assistance

I'm holding off my upgrade until at least they add back local ID Safe or until next year, whichever comes sooner :smileywink:

When in doubt, uninstall / reinstall :smileywink:
