NIS 2012 Identity Safe Does NOt Work

 When clicked, it reads "the product is inactive".Also, "Unavailable. Browser restart needed"  This is in the Norton toolbar. When I click on the 'product inactive' dropdown, it reads "Identity Safe is locked down. . . etc'"  It offers a FIX or CANCEL button. Pressing FIX does nothing!  I have deactivated the item both in NIS 2012 and reactivated with no result.  I have uninstalled IE9 and reinstalled it.  It is the 32 bit version running on a 64 bit machine (windows 7 professional).  Everything was working this morning until updates.I can still access the file but it is inactive in IE9.

Check that the time and date are correct on your computer.

 

What version of NIS are you using? Support - About. What Operating System, including service pack are you using.

Did you ever have another anti virus program installed? If so, which one?

 

Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.

 

From the main NIS UI, click on Support - Get support. This will run Autofix to check and fix errors with your installtion.

 

If that does not work, you will have to try reinstalling NIS.


Things happen. Export/Backup your Identity Safe data.
