Re: Norton Confidential plug-in crashing Chrome

Same issue with Chrome. I don't accept putting the blame on Google when you had the same issue with IE. If your product crashes with multiple products, it is your product.

For now I've disabled this. If it continues, I'll be forced to switch to another product.

The only browser known to have this issue is Chrome.  Each browser uses a different plug-in, so if a user is experiencing a problem with IE or Firefox, it is unrelated to the Chrome issue being discussed here.  There are very few reports of IE or Firefox crashing, and I am not aware of any reports of a universal problem with Norton and those other browsers other than the FIrefox Toolbat update issue affecting some users.  The cause of the problem with Chrome is well understood, and it is in the Chrome code, not the Norton code.

Until this issue is fixed, is there a way just to disable Norton Confidential?  I am having a difficult time getting anything accomplished because of this issue.

Respectfully disagree. Unless Google is writing Norton's plug-in, you can't blamge Chrome or Google code for a 3rd party plug-in. My point was this same item has been problematic on various IE. It is now fixed on IE but it was a problem. Please don't insult all the customers by saying Chrome is to blame.

I'm not one to point fingers in either direction, whether it be Norton or Google. I'm not here to defend anyone, I'm just a regular user like anybody else. I use Chrome and IE, mainly Chrome. That being said, I can say this. Ever since there has been such a thing as Norton Confidential, not one time ever, have I had a single problem with it when using IE, only Chrome.

Perhaps some can read between the lines on that :smileywink:

Have you familiarized yourself with nature of the problem as it was discussed on the Chrome site mentioned earlier in this thread?

Re: Norton Confidential plug-in crashing Chrome

Yahoo is where it seems to crash the most.  I have tried the different things with the pluggins - under the hood stuff, and to no avail.  It still crashes.

Re: Norton Confidential plug-in crashing Chrome

I get the same stupid message.... Look guys,  I had to switch from Firefox to Chrome because Blogger was not supporting Firefox... anymore [Googlegreed].  Now I get the same stupid message that Norton Confidential Plug in has crashed.  It has been a royal PITA to deal with. The issue might be with Chrome, but it is effecting NORTON users. So.... instead of he did it he did it...how about a real solution?
