Why does Norton continue to torture people like this instead of taking care of the problem--or at least being honest with people when they reach out for help?
How 'bout being honest with people beforehand????

TO EVERYONE THAT IS EXPERIENCING GOOGLE CRASHING AND NORTON IS BLAMING GOOGLE AND GOOGLE IS BLAMING NORTON...THEY BOTH SUCK BUT HERE IS THE SOLUTION....I AM SURPRISED THAT NORTON HASN'T POSTED THIS...GUESS THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO GO AWAY AND USE ANOTHER PRODUCT LIKE KAPERSKY!...RATED #1 BTW....THE SOLUTION IS : GO TO YOUR SETTINGS IN GOOGLE AND DISABLE THE NORTON EXTENSIONS....HAD NO PROBLEMS SINCE...IT DOESN'T OPEN YOUR MACHINE TO ANY PROBLEMS...NORTON JUST WANTS TO BE YOUR BABYSITTER THROUGH LIFE INSTEAD OF JUST TAKING CARE OF ISSUES AND GIVING THE PUBLIC A DECENT PRODUCT.

TURN OFF NORTON EXTENSIONS IN GOOGLE SETTINGS...THAT WILL FIX IT...NORTON WON'T TELL YOU THAT THOUGH...I JUST STUMBLED UPON IT

Google is far from perfect but I wouldn't blame them so harshly. Remember, this is a NORTON plugin to Google, not the other way around.
Be careful with switching products and #1 ratings. I've sold a number of these products and to be honest, at any given points, somebody can make the claim about being #1. It depends on whose holes the hackers also want to expose.
Just my $.02 and yeah, disabling it works just fine!

PLEASE for the sake of customer service, stop with each browser has a different plugin. Everyone knows that. WHO codes the plugin? Norton! And IE DID have this problem at one point, demonstrating an issue with Norton writing their plugin code. NOBODY on this forum wants to hear Norton blame somebody else for their product.

Ed, there were reports of this issue a while back with IE (you can search on it). I had this problem with IE months ago. But guess who fixed it? Norton. Norton has to write the plugin that will fix the issue, not Google.
I was also told by Norton support the do more development on IE which is why the problem was fixed faster. Despite market share of other browswers, IE is the obvious and natural focus for all 3rd party products. I moved to Chrome because IE was having other issues and Firefox had major performance issues with memory leakage. That's why Chrome's market share grew so fast. But I digress. :-)

Actually, Norton told you that back in March:

mdezrin,
I've yet to see the wide spread reports of IE having the same problem that Chrome does, especially with IE being the world's biggest browser, and that's with searching as suggested. I've been using Chrome since the beginning of 2012 and like it very much. Before that, I used IE along with Norton for more years than I care to count. It's funny that I seem to be the only one on the planet who never experienced the plugin problem with IE.

My computer is constantly telling me that Norton Confidential has crashed. What is being done? It looks like it has been a problem for a while.

Hi, Edgr60
IE is not the "world's biggest" browser anymore. Chrome is the most used browser on the planet, and has been for awhile. I did have the crashing problem with IE, and so do many others who have posted here.
Please do not continue to pretend to anyone that there is no problem with Norton being used in conjunction with IE or Chrome...you're doing yourself a disservice. I'm glad you haven't had a problem, but there are (obviously) thousands or millions of us who do have.
I have now switched to Mozilla FireFox, and so far haven't had the crashing (I'm keeping my fingers crossed).
I do know that neither the logins or the cards sections or anything else that needs to be filled in from my Norton Internet Security gets filled in, so that doesn't work.
*sigh*
