Norton Toolbar / Norton Identity Safe

Katie,

I replied here because I thought the Norton Safety Minder would clear up the Norton Identity Safe not working in FireFox 13.0.1. I'm not sure how Norton Safety Minder, Norton Toolbar and Norton Identity Safe all interact with each other.

I ended up uninstalling Firefox and Norton 360 then reinstalled them as per Yank's instructions. I was awaiting a automated update to do this. After manually performing Yank's instructions, the Norton Toolbar, with Norton Identity Safe, returned in FireFox 13.0.1. I'm still a bit upset that I had to physically get involved monitoring my PC while I uninstalled and reinstalled software and that the automated updates could not overcome this issue or conflict between Norton and FireFox.

Hi techman_hou,

I understand where you are coming from and what has happened to you does happen on occassion.  There are others who upgrade their FireFox as soon as it is released and then wait for the Norton update to make the Norton Toolbar compatable - why these two situations appear is beyond me - however it is generally accepted that one should wait until the Norton Toolbar compatability update is released by Norton and you can get it then via auto LiveUpdate or manual LiveUpdate.

Norton is good about posting a sticky on the N 360 and the NAV/NIS Boards when the NTB update is available. 

I guess weare getting ready to face another update from FireFox stating in the very near future ( like today)?
