Thanks michaelswift,
If I understand correctly there is nothing under [ExtensionDirs]?
Mine shows the following:
Although my engine numbers are different, you should still have the same two extentions in ExtentionDirs. The engine numbers must match the engine number in your other reference. (6.0.1.2) In other words, you should have the following under ExtentionDirs:
You then need to add the above entries, and then restart your system and see if the Norton Toolbar Extention is present in FF.
In regards to the upper part of the install.rdf file, it shows that Norton Toolbar 2012.7.4.1is installed (I hightlighted it in red in the quote) The only thing I can see is that there are no FF extentions listed in the extention.ini file - that is what we are trying to add above. Hope you understand what we are doing.
Please keep us posted.

ok, I think we are making progress.
I have copied the two entries into the extensions.ini file and restarted the computer. When I loaded up Firefox, the Norton toolbar was present on the browser but NOT in the extensions list.

It seems like someone else reported this as happening awhile back - but I can't find the thread it occurred in, nor do I think it was resolved.
But at least you got the toolbar back..

Have a look at this:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/931019
Renaming the files (old) as suggested will provide a backup if needed and since they will be recreated, it might solve your problem.
It appears to me - we goth the toolbar back minus the extentions - so perhaps one of the other files is corrupt causing your extentions not to show????
