This site is so difficult to navigate. It took me 20 minutes just to find this message site.
I have online b/up. It backs up every day. How and where do I go to change it to once a week or month? Also where do I go to get "help" via Norton Instant Messenger? It's usually some fellow in India. Is there a phone # I can call that's free of charge to get help? Also where do I go to delete my log. I have 9 Gigs to back up and it takes 3 hrs.! I'm using Windows Premium Home, my pc has a 500 G's hard drive.
I'm a disabled veteran and don't have a lot of $$ to spend.
Thanks,
Rich

Welcome Rich,
First, thank you for your service.
We'll need to know which version of what Norton product you are running in order to answer some of your questions.
One other question - how much RAM is installed?
The 'capcha' barrier will fall after a few more message posts. If it proves to be too much please send a private message [PM - that little envlope in the upper right corner of the screen to Tony_Weiss and ask him to remove it.
Help here is free. All of the names in anything but bold red are volunteers - those others are employees.![]()
Thanks

Hi Rich,
As Dick said, thank you so very much for your service. I want to address the 'captcha' problem. That's the very difficult word verification process you have to do, just to get something posted. I have had my issues in the past with that and couldn't even get in at all.
As Dick said, you can send Tony a PM, small envelope icon upper right of any page in the forum, or click HERE, to go to Tony's post where he encourages people to contact him directly about this. Once there, click Tony's name in red to go to his profile page and email. I contacted him by email and he removed the 'captcha' feature from my account immediately.
Thanks again.
Ed

You can find the Support people using online chat at www.norton.com/chat
Are you concerned about the time it takes to back up your files? As you are backing up online, it depends on your internet connection speeds. You have to remember that upload speeds are usually much slower than download, so it will take some time.

Rich,
One point that Peter didn't mention was that your data is encrypted at your computer before it is sent to the Norton server. This is one of the possible reasons for the longer uploads than downloads. RAM and free space on your hard drive also factor in.
We'll be here when you need us
