I recently had to reset my IE9 settings to defaults and I had lost the Norton Safe web icons when I do searches on Google. "Norton Safe Web" is "On" in my Norton settings, "Enable Norton Safe Web" is checked on the toolbar. I don't know why I can't see the icons? I have Norton Internet Security version 19.8.0.14. I also can't see the icons with Firefox.
What am I missing?
Thank you!

Hi,
We have released a new version of the product you are using, please update to the latest product and let us know if you still see this issue. To update the product to the new version, right click on the Norton Tray icon and select check for new version. Complete the process and reboot when asked for, you will be on the new version now.

Prasanna

Ok, I did install the new version but I have now another problem. I don't have any desktop icon now of Norton, it has disappeared. Nothing shows the program is on my computer! Where is Norton located on our computers? Why can't I see any icons of Norton on my computer? Even the Norton tray icon has disappeared. The worst part is that the safe web icons are still not showing! This is not user friendly at all.
Please help!
A bit later, ok I did find Norton on my computer. Put back the icon on the tray but man, it now takes a while for my computer to start when I restart it. The only thing that has changed on my computer is this new version of Norton...
Why is Norton disable in firefox. It says that Norton toolbar is incompatible with Firefox...!!!
Still no safe web icons after all this.

Hi,
What is the version of Firefox you are using?
Just try running a complete Live Update on the product and then check if the toolbar is enabled. We now officially support only Firefox 13.0 and above.

I did an update on Firefox and I now have version 15.0.1. The Norton toolbar is there and the web safe icons are now showing when I do a search. Marvelous!
Now, why are they still missing with Explorer 9 ? It is up to date and the Norton toolbar is there but still no web safe icons when doing a search. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I am having the same issue on three different computers. There are no icons showing in Google, Bing or Yahoo searches. However, when I search from the Norton Toolbar the icons show up in the Ask.com Norton branded results.
All three are running IE8 with Windows 7. The problem was there with NIS 2012 on all three so I upgraded two of the computers to NIS 2013. After the upgrade there are still no icons in Google, Bing or Yahoo. Toolbar search shows them though.
All the settings are correct and turned on in NIS 2012 and NIS 2013.

Hi Both,
Just browse to any site and click on the Safeweb icon on the toolbar and let us know if you are able to see the information about the site over there. That will confirm your machine is receiving responding from our servers.

When I click on the Safeweb icon in the Norton toolbar the information about the site is displayed.
However, I still do not have the icons on any of the search sites whether the toolbar is enabled or not. Up to just a while ago I was able to get the icons on all of the search sites even with the Norton Toolbar disabled in the add-ons. Now I get nothing either way.
Same results all three computers.
Thanks

I have had this issue ongoing for many weeks. Sometimes the icons appear straight away, sometimes they never appear, or only appear if I click refresh, or go to the next page of search results and then hit the back button. I have learned to live with it, and when they don't appear in Google/Bing/Yahoo, use the Norton/Ask toolbar search engine instead, where they always appear.

Same situation as Dogbert. Safeweb infos is displayed when we click on safeweb icon but only if we are already on a particular site. Isn't the idea to know if a site is safe "before" we click on it when we do searches?
Had no problem before a week or two and safeweb icons were showing on searches. Problem for me is still with IE9.
