Norton Toolbar / Norton Identity Safe

I just updated to Firefox 14.0.1 and my Norton Toolbar doesn't work.  I've run Live Update until it says I'm all up to date, rebooted, run Live Update again just to be sure, rebooted again, run Live Update yet again, and still don't have the latest version.  I have version 2012.7.3.1.  How do I get it to update to the latest version?

Hi,

You should get it as an live update download which requires a reboot. You might give it a bit of time and then run live update a few times to see if you trigger the download.

This problem seems to crop up whenever Mozilla update Firefox. The advice is always the same, run live update then reboot. A lot of people find this doesn’t work.

I suspect that when Firefox is upgraded Norton Vulnerability Protection and Norton Tool Bar are disabled by default.

Open Firefox. Click on Tools – Add-ons – Extensions and “Enable” the Norton Products. Worked for me.

You are absolutely correct FF does disable the extensions by default.

I have run live updates at least 5 times on my Norton 360, and re-booted several times, and it swears that I'm all up to date.  I checked my add-on manager in firefox, and it won't allow me to enable the toolbar - it still says it's not compatable.  This is frustrating.  What do I do now?

There could be some  issue with your Norton installation that is causing this. 

Try clicking on Support - Get Support to run  Autofix to check your installation and fix what it finds.

Then run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available

There has been an increasing number of situations with the Norton Toolbar Extention not updating so that FF 14 can be used.  In an effort to try to track this down could you please go to  C:\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\N360_6.x.x.x\coFFPlgn and tell us the Engine Number associated with that path?

I am seeking the numbers on your system where the X's are.  Here's a screenshot of mine - it shows 6.0.0.145.

Please let us know what Engine number you have in that location.
