When I click on the Identity Safe button on the toolbar, it shows
Unavailable - Browser Restart Required
Restarting the browser doesn't change the message.
Considering other complications, I'm starting to wonder if moving my IS to the cloud really was a good idea.

Restart the machine and check the behavior again
Thanks,

Restart my computer? You've got to be kidding. OK, I'll try it, but I sure hope this doesn't happen often.

Restarted and it now works, but I did have problems signing into my online account. I got the network error or some such that I've seen mentioned elsewhere here. After two retries, it worked. Hopefully these kind of annoyances are not going to be the norm. We all have enough to do without having to fiddle to get this basic service to work.

Hi,
Just went through the same delay getting the vault to open. It appeared to be a combination of network and server delays for some reason. As to it being the 'norm' who can tell? I don't see it too often but I'm not surprised when it does happen. Neither the network nor the hardware attached to and running it are perfect so 'stuff' happens. It's a part of life.
Stay well and surf safe

Restarting your computer is, or should be, part of your normal maintenance routine.
If you run a Windows PC, there is often 'digital junk' that accumulates as the system is running. Restarting the computer clears all this out, and can sometimes complete the installation of updates for both Windows and other programs. Sometimes when you click on the Start button, you will see a little shield icon beside the Shut Down button. This indicates that there are pending Windows updates waiting to be installed. These can also affect how other programs work on your computer because these programs sometimes use the Windows funtions that are being updated.

I am quite familiar with how to operate a windows-based computer and with windows updates. I think it is a little odd that the response to my surprise that I have to restart windows to get the Norton's Identity Safe to work properly is that I should be restarting windows more often anyway. Other than specific updates and new installations, I've never had a program that required a windows restart just to work properly. The online Identity Safe is either ready for prime time or not. I have many, many online services, and yes, online hiccups occur. But they are not the norm with any applications that I have used over the years.
