Norton Toolbar / Norton Identity Safe

Having real problems here, browser loads fine, then I try and log into identity safe by clicking on the log in under lock symbol and browser just locks completely! Have tied to log in via norton and this just locks norton up as well, meaning reboot.

If I don't log in to identity safe then everything is fine.

Have done the uninstall and reinstall but the same thing happens.

Have applied all windows updates.

Have been trying to fix this for a week so any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to hear/read of your problem. Have you tried upgrading to IE9? You didn't mention your operating system so I don't know if that's a possibility

It was in the title....... windows xp, so can't upgrade the browser......

OK, no upgrade. If the only problem is IE then I'd look at either repairing or reinstalling the browser.

Okay, will try reloading ie8, have just uninstalled and reinstalled norton 2012, same again, click on identity safe and the browser and norton completely locks up!

Have you run a scan with Malwarebytes free scanner?

It's Norton compatible. Download, install, update and run from the desktop.

What security program are you runniing?

Well got onto Symantec chat today, they spent 1 1/2 hours on my machine today.  and then it all worked............................ for 5 minutes and we are back to square one again, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
