AntiVirus for Mac 11: Scan results log file location? Can I initiate a scan via the command line?

Two seperate questions:

1) Norton AntiVirus shows me an 'Activity Log' window with results of various scans, but where is this data actually located so I can save/parse it?

2) Is there the ability execute a virus scan via the command line (Terminal)?  I see there is a way to update the virus definitions, but I can't figure out how to execute a scan.

Thanks in advance.

The log file is, I believe, in /Library/Application Support/Symantec/SymUIAgent/Logs (but I am going by memory, it may be some variation on that).  It is either a Core Data or sqlite3 file.

There is a command line scan tool, navx, in /usr/bin.  If you just type navx in Terminal it should show usage.

Hi scboyd,

To add Lee_G's answer for the second question, you can see these two links:

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH92772 and

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH103334

These two links is to runn Norton Scan using terminals, the first link is used for Norton products for home users and the second link is used for Norton Products for business users..

Hope this will help you...
