My earlier Norton Antivirus subscription had an expiration of August 8, 2009. I bought a new CD and installed the software, and even though it says "successfully installed" I get a message that the subscription has expired and asks for a subscription key. I have tried unistalling the old symantec files and reinstalled the new disc, but continue to get the expiration message.
The update does not happen and I do not have any protection which is scary

What version of Norton AntiVirus did you have previously? If you had Norton AntiVirus 11 already and you installed Norton AntiVirus 11 on top if it, I think actually instead of purchasing a new copy of Norton AntiVirus, you should have renewed your subscription.
If that's the case, please send me a private message. If you had Norton AntiVirus 10 already installed when you bought Norton AntiVirus 11, let me know.
