Norton Internet Security for Mac Activation Required

Hi

I had NIS for Mac and switched to Norton AntiVirus for Mac.

I am now getting recurring pop ups from NIS stating "Activation required"

I loaded Symmantec uninstaller, but there is no obvious NIS installed just Norton Identity, Norton Firewall and Norton AntiVirus.

How do I get rid of these popups?

Thanks

D

Re: Norton Internet Security for Mac Activation Required

This thread will probably be moved to the Mac section of the forum.

Did you remove the NIS before installing NAV?

As they are different products, you would have to enter an activation key for NAV. It will be different than a NIS key. Did you enter a new key as part of the installation process for NAV?

Re: Norton Internet Security for Mac Activation Required

To ensure you have removed correctly the NIS, see the following Symantec kb article. https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?OpenDocument&ct=us&lg=en&produ...

Re: Norton Internet Security for Mac Activation Required

Hey. I'm using the latest Macbook Pro (not retina) and running Mountain Lion.

I was using the trail version, which expired, then i hit the renew option, filled info, paid, got charged. But when I enter my product key, it keeps coming 'Unable to Verify'.

Then I uninstalled, and reinstalled using the setup from mynorton account, and that hasn't solved. I updated everything using liveupdate too. Gatekeeper also disabled. Still displays 'Unable to Verify'

Now I'm charged for a year, but unable to use it. Whats the fix? If nothing for now, I'd atleast like a refund.

Re: Norton Internet Security for Mac Activation Required

RahulMenon. I am not a Mac user so I cannot help with an issue that might be Mac related. As this is a subscription issue, I would suggest contacting Support via online chat. They have the tools necessary to fix subscription issues. You will find them at www.norton.com/chat

Re: Norton Internet Security for Mac Activation Required

The link being provided around the website has been wrong I guess. I got the correct link from another thread!

http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-for-Mac/NIS-For-Mac-5-Doesn-t-Support-Mountain-Lion/td-p/77164...

Correct link = http://buy-download.norton.com/downloads/2012/NISNAVMAC/12.3_5.3/NortonInternetSecurity.EnglishESD.d...

I hope you guys fix this soon.

Re: Norton Internet Security for Mac Activation Required

Thanks for your help.

It has been awhile since I did the install.

I am just going to unintall all the Norton products and restart.

Again, thanks.
