Problem with updates

NIS for Mac: I didn't install Norton Confidential and now a Norton Confidential update shows up every time. How do I keep this update from appearing? If not possible, how do I install Norton Confidential?

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Problem with updates

If you installed NIS then Norton Confidential should be installed as well.  If you don't want updates for Norton Confidential, you can enter the following command in the Terminal application (Applications -> Utilities):

sudo rm "/Library/Application Support/Norton Solutions Support/LiveUpdate/Registry/LUco"*

and then enter your administrator password.

Re: Problem with updates

You're right, it is installed. The problem is that all the components show up as not installed/disabled. How do I enable or install them?

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Problem with updates

Where does it say it's not installed?

You can launch the application Norton Confidential from the Symantec Solutions folder inside Applications and go to each tab to enable features.  There are a couple of features in there that protect information that you specify.  If you don't have files or information that you want to specify, it's just as well to leave them off.  These features include File Guard and Information Guard.

Re: Problem with updates

You are right. The problem was that I was running OSX as a standar user and due to that I couldn't enable Norton Confidential.

Great support on these forums, really glad I found them.
