Unable to do Virus Scan

I have a MacBook Pro 10.7.2 laptop with the latest Norton Anti Virus program installed.  Even after updating the program...when I try to run a scan, I get this message: The scan failed because of a scan engine problem.  Run LiveUpdate to get the latest version.  Attached is the file SymantecInfo.  Please advise what I need to do.  I keep updating but it does not fix the problem.  Thank you.

I don't see the attachment.  If you are having problems attaching it, let me know and I'll send you my email address via private message.

Re: Unable to do Virus Scan

Hi Lee,

Yes, I was unable to attach the SymantecInfo file because it is slightly larger than the allowed download size.  If you'd be so kind as to email me your email address, I will send it to you.  Thank you.

Re: Unable to do Virus Scan

Hi,

Exact same situation with software purchased yesterday - same model (Macbook Pro 10.7.2) - any time I attempt a virus scan I get the message 'the scan failed because of a scan engine problem. Run live update to get the latest version'

I have run live update several times (above 15 now) and the only thing I am having trouble downloading is the NAV for Mac 12 Virus Defs. When i try to update this, the status is shown with a red X next to it (tried to upload attachment to show but not successful)

WOuld also be grateful for any assistance.

Cheers!

Re: Unable to do Virus Scan

mflyinshanghai, can you follow the instructions at this link?  I'll send a private message with an address where you can send the output file.

kevinmoats, I sent my email address privately last week, did you receive it?
