antivirus for mac

Hello.
I hope you can help.
I am running Antivirus for Mac version 2.1.1 (5)
My Mac is a Mac Pro Intel, running OSX 10.4.11
The live update is asking for me to renew subscription and leading me to a product saying OSX Lion.
Is this the product i need, and will it cover my system ?

Re: antivirus for mac

No, you don't want to use the Lion product (NAV 12).  You should be able to get a subscription renewal for your product, which I believe is NAV 11.x (the 2.1.1 is for the QuickMenu, you would need to check the About... in the NAV app to be sure).  Note that reinstalling a new copy of NAV 11 will not update your subscription.  I'll try to track down a link to the renewal page, but it may be a couple hours before I can respond again.

Re: antivirus for mac

It's a little tricky, unfortunately I can't paste a direct link here.  But here are the steps to get there.

1. Start at the general renewal page:

http://buy.norton.com/estore/mf/upgradeRenewal?rdid=bc49bb3a-c042-42f3-ae0e-317c3499975d133278410895...

2. In the pop-up menu at the top ("Select Your Product"), select "Norton AntiVirus for Mac"

3. A new pop-up "Select Your Version" will appear, select "Version 11.0" and hit "Go"

4. The option you want is the one on the right, "Norton AntiVirus for Mac (For OS X 10.4-10.6) Subscription Renewal".  Hit the Renew button under that one.  You don't need to buy Online Backup if you don't want it, just the first item (1 year renewal).

Re: antivirus for mac

Adding to Lee-G's post: You've to select ' Renew your Norton product manually here > > ' at the bottom to get the pop-up menu in step2.
