Back up wrong place

I have been backing up my files on my recovery partition, of course it is now full. How do I remove the files and folder that do not belong on the Recovery partition.

Re: Back up wrong place

Hi Carolyn46,

Not a good idea to backup into your recovery partition, that partition is only to recover your computer in case of a crash.

You actually use that partition in conjunction with the recovery disk that comes with the machine.

It would be advisable to invest in a quality external drive to keep your backups on, if you are using Ghost 15 for example, run a "One Time Backup" onto the external drive and that will backup everything on the C:drive . There is no need to run "file and folder" backups we wouldn't recommend that with the present version of Ghost,I presume you are using Ghost 15.

To remove the files just open the partition and manually delete your files you see in there, get back to us if you are still stuck.

Yes, I know I clicked the wrong drive for the back up. Having found the error(via error message that the drive was full) I have since backed up the files on a external disc. If I simply delete the 360Norton from the recovery partition will that drive go back to the original GBs?
