Backup of (C:\) Failed the Last Time it Ran

This is the error I get from Norton Ghost after re-installing it after a few months of having it off of my computer.  I was tired of how useless Windows Back-up is, as it hadn't made it past 20% after a full twelve hours.  It (Norton Ghost) used to work (mostly) without error, and now I can't even do a single backup.  I tried backing it up to my external hard drive (1 TB, just like my HDD, attached via USB 3.0 cable) multiple times, and was met with the same error each time.  I'm running the latest version of Windows 7 home edition, and can gladly provide full system specs on demand.  I'd like to use this software, as it's the only one I've found that works to my needs.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, tried searching for this specific issue, and didn't seem to have any luck, so if this thread's topic has already been made, my apologies.

You are imaging the PC with Recovery Points, and not File and Folder Backup, right? Try running a one time backup. If it works, you may need to kill the current backup that failed and start a new Recovery Point set.

Well, it seems to be working just fine right now.  I'll update this if it succeeds or fails.
