Hi,

I'm wondering if the patches for Ghost 15 from Live Update could be incorporated into the SRD. I'm not talking about for later installation onto a PC as there is no problem with Live Update patching a PC; but I use the SRD for cold backups and recoveries and I would like the version of ghost on the CD to be the latest for that.

I've seen the following How to build the Ghost15 SRD on WinPE 3.1 and I'm going to give it a try with Windows 7 64 bit. So at the same time I would like to see if I can patch the version of ghost on the CD.

I'm now going to try and use the instructions in the link I had to turn this into a Win 7 64bit WinPE environment.

Unfortunately you cannot run any 32-bit programs (Ghost or otherwise) in 64-bit WinPE. There is no WoW. As far as I know, the only thing that you can run in 64-bit WinPE is Symantec Ghost 64-bit.

Well that is disappointing. As I'm running 64 bit windows it would make getting the "right" drivers loaded into a custom SRD so much easier. Before seeing your post I had downloaded the WAIK and got a 64bit WinPE environment only to have it fail to launch ghost on the boot

By Symantec Ghost 64-bit do you mean the Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 2.5? If so then I'll look at what the licence cost is in Australia.

Yes. Also note that a Symantec employee mentioned the next version of Norton Ghost would have a 64-bit Recovery Environment available.
