LPK.dll is the language pack dll,

Try the following:

Click Start
Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD
Click 'Run as Administrator'
At the Command Prompt, type:    sfc/scannow

This will check for any integrity violations

Restart your system

Found that with LPK.dll missing you can't run any programs or browsers,  LPK.dll is needed.

okay so I did the scan. It said the folowing:

Beggining system scan. This process will take some time.

Beggining verification phase of system scan.

Verification 44% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example

C:\Windows\system32>

Then it stopped scanning

okay I ran it in safe mode but, got the exact same message as before.

except the last part of the message says:

I don't even know if you have a backup copy of LPK.dll

use FRST like previously, once it starts do this

Type the following in the edit box after "Search:" so it looks like this:

Search: LPK.dll

Click Search button and post the log it makes to your reply.   Called search.txt

okay here is the search.txt

OK, delete the fixlist.txt that is on your flash drive and download the one attached to this message, then transfer it to the flash drive  (you know how it goes)

Start FRST again and this time like with the last 2 fixlist.txt scripts click the Fix button

This is what is missing C:\Windows\SysWOW64\LPK.dll

ahh okay, it says fix completed a fixlog.txt has been created on flash drive. When I log onto my account another error message pops up it says:

Stage_primary.exe-System Error

The program can't start because DCIMAN32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.

I can now connect to the internet though

Have you got the newest fixlog,  have we have now done 3 fixes.

Let that be a lesson about using Norton Power Eraser,   Now I have to go look up what the new missing file belongs to.
